WHERE IS THE RUNNING OF THE BULLS LOCATED?

The globally renowned “Running of the Bulls” takes place in Pamplona, Spain – the picturesque capital of the Navarre region in northern Spain. The bull runs, or Encierros, are staged in Pamplona’s beautiful Casco Viejo, the historic quarter that flanks the banks of the Arga River.

The bull run route has remained unchanged for decades and spans just 875 meters in total. It snakes its way along uneven cobblestone from the slope of Santo Domingo Street, to Town Hall Square, down Mercaderes Street to Estafata, and then past the Telephone Exchange building where both animals and runners are funneled into the bullfighting arena.

Ernest Hemingway glorified the thrills, the dangers, and the frenzy of the Running of the Bulls in his 1926 novel, The Sun Also Rises. For more information and to book your Running of the Bulls 2025 tour package, visit BullRunPamplona.com.
