What is a Bullfight in Pamplona?

A Bullfight in Pamplona is a tradition in Spain and occurs each evening during the San Fermin Festival. During a Pamplona bullfight, the matadors fight the same bulls that run in the morning bull run.  It takes place in the Plaza de toros with different matadors each night.

Where do bullfights in Pamplona occur?

All of the bullfights in Pamplona are held at the Plaza de Toros, the same place where the morning bull run in Pamplona ends.

What is included when you purchase a Pamplona bullfight ticket?

The purchase of a bullfight ticket comes with a physical ticket that you will receive from Running of the Bulls that gives you entry into the Plaza de Toros de Pamplona. Seating type and sections will vary based on the seats chosen.

Does Running of the bulls send out digital tickets for the San Fermin bullfights?

No, attendees are required to have physical tickets to enter the Plaza de Toros as there are no digital tickets for bullfights.

Where/How do I get my Bullfight Tickets?

Once you purchase tickets on the website you will receive instructions that include the location of our office to pick up your tickets and the times in which they can be picked up! If you already have one of our Pamplona Travel Packages and are purchasing tickets as an add-on, they will be included in your package that you receive when you check in!

What time do bullfights take place?

Bullfights start at 6:30 p.m. but we suggest arriving at around 5:45 p.m. as there a lines to get into the Plaza de Toros and it will give you some time to get settled before the bullfight begins!

What is the difference between shade and sun seats at the bullfights in Pamplona?

Shade Seats (known as sombra) are on the covered side of the area that will protect you from the sun, making them a bit more comfortable to some. Sun Seats (known as sol) are in direct sunlight, so they can get pretty warm, but they are generally a little cheaper than the shade seats.

What should I expect at a bullfight in Pamplona?

A traditional San Fermin bullfight consists of multiple rounds with different matadors going against the same bulls that ran that morning. It is rooted in Spanish tradition and some days feature famous bullfighters or different experiences. You can check the bullfight schedule here!

Can I choose my exact seat at the bullfight?

Seats at the Plaza de Toros are sold based on section and seating category (shade or sun), but actual seat numbers are assigned closer to the fiesta! We always do our best to put groups and families together, but we do suggest booking early to ensure you all can get a seat together!

How far in advance should I purchase my bullfight tickets for the Running of the Bulls?

Bullfight tickets are in very high demand as the Fiesta approaches, as it is a must see event, and many of the best seats and tickets for the best days sell out quickly! Booking in advance or booking a San Fermin Travel Package can ensure you get the best tickets we have available!

Are Bullfights family-friendly?

The bullfights during San Fermin follow the traditional spanish bullfighting style, and may not be suitable for all audiences due to the nature of the event. We highly recommend looking into the bullfights before you decide if it is something you want to include the whole family in. Viewer discretion is advised for small children, those with weak stomachs, and those who don’t enjoy the traditional style.

Can I bring food and drink into the Plaza de Toros?

Many guests bring small snacks or drinks (glass bottles are strictly prohibited) while others choose to grab snacks and drinks from vendors on site!

Are bullfight tickets refundable?

All bullfight ticket sales are final due to the demand and structure of the event. Please ensure you confirm your plans before you purchase tickets!
